The Netea lab has internationally recognized expertise in host defense against infections, especially in the regulation of innate immunity and inflammation. The group first established the concept of trained immunity, a process that is crucial for heterologous effects of vaccines. In the BAXERNA project, the lab will investigate the impact of adjuvanted vaccine formulations on trained innate immune responses in human cells and mouse models.
